Megan has lots of wisdom to share in her interview, and to top it off, she is giving away a free Wellness Makeover coaching session to one lucky reader! The session is 1.5 hours long and valued at $165!

The winner will be chosen at random and announced on Monday, April 9th.

Question #1. What does being a Daring Diva Mean to You?

Being brave enough to take the road less traveled…and then convince others to come along for the ride!

Question #2. What are the three most significant qualities that make YOU a Daring Diva?

  1. My desire to connect and engage. Reaching out and joining in keeps me on my toes and makes me feel empowered.
  2. My persistence, even in the face of adversity. I’m Daring enough to try something new and Diva enough to make it stick!
  3. My forethought and analysis. It takes a lot of preparation to be Daring in a purposeful way.

Question #3. Being a Daring Diva isn’t always easy. What keeps you motivated and inspired to choose the Daring Diva life?

Working in behavior science, I’ve learned to look for and appreciate small changes. When a client achieves a new goal or a lightbulb turns on for a workshop participant, I know that I’ve made a real difference. Those subtle sparks of change are worth all the obstacles and effort!

I am also SO inspired by other Daring Divas (and dudes) that I meet. There are so many people doing wonderful work on this earth – it is a blessing that we all share the same space and energy!

Question #4. What is the most daring thing you’ve ever done and what did you learn from the experience?

After an enlightening volunteer vacation, my husband and I decided to take a hiatus from our well-paying careers (in the middle of the recession) to travel and discover our true passions. I learned so much about other places, people and cultures during our two-year sabbatical. But my most cherished lesson came from the passionate entrepreneurs we met along the way. I learned that, deep down, I already have what it takes to be successful in work and in life. All I need to do is stop searching and ‘live my proof’ every day. The rest will fall into place.

Question #5. Tell us about a time when you failed or nearly gave up. What did you learn and how has this experience influenced your current relationship with failure?

Every day, we each face dozens of opportunities to choose between two paths: to take the easy road, or to keep climbing. I was turned down for a graduate apprenticeship with a revered professor. I opted for a miserable first job straight out of grad school. I spent years beating myself up about my own body shape and size. There are so many times I’ve wondered ‘Do I really have what it takes to achieve my best in career, love, life?’.

What I’ve found is that, if you keep plugging away, keep building on what you know and love, the winds will eventually turn in your favor. That professor is now trying to recruit me to her company. I’m running my own business – and loving it. I’ve conquered my body – image issues and am helping others to become healthy and fit. My advice? See each failure as an opportunity to check in with your true values and make sure you’re on the right path, then keep climbing and follow it straight to the top!

Question #6. What are your top three tips for living an extraordinary life?

  1. Set clear goals – Write them down, read them daily and share them with anyone who will listen!
  2. Stay active – No matter what you’re trying to accomplish, scheduling regular workouts, projects, hobbies and social outings will make it less likely that you’ll stall out or lose motivation.
  3. Be true to your values – If a path or decision somehow feels wrong, stop and check in. By matching each choice with your bigger dreams, you’ll make nothing less than extraordinary actions.
